Humming ...

Like I said, I am really enjoying Christmas hymns this year. So, lately when I sing to the girls at night I try to sing a couple of carols. The sad thing is that I only know the first verses of just a few carols. So I sing the first verse very confidently and struggle through the rest of the verses, humming in place of verses forgotten or never memorized. Last night Sage started to hum with me ... that was pretty fun.

Silent Night

Silent night, Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in Heavenly peace
Sleep in Heavenly peace

Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from Heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah
Christ, the Savior is born
Christ, the Savior is born

Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from thy Holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth

I have had the same trouble lately with my singing with the kids. But the song are great and they love to sing. Even Harley pipes in with a few words she picks up. What a great experience for them.

I can't believe the words that kids can remember. I've been singing "Once Upon A December" from the movie "Anastasia" to Zane almost every night to Zane since he was a baby. He can sing that whole song all by himself without any help. I don't even think he knows what the words really mean. He does such a good job, it's so cute.
I like that you're putting the words to the songs on your blog. It feels good to actually read them, cause I'd be right there with you humming away!!
