Goodbye Thumper

My mom in-law has to put her horse Thumper to sleep today. He is 30 years old and has lived a full life. And we know that and yet death is so final and so hard to accept. Sage says that Thumper is going to be with Jesus. We said our goodbyes the other day. Thumper is the first horse that Sage touched (as an infant) and then rode as a toddler. We are sorry for this loss.

Great pictures, Amber. This is such a hard day... I know it is needed but I really don't have to like it, do I?

It is so hard...My heart is so heavy...I don't like it at all. I have braided his tail, brushed every inch of him and I have cut off the bell boots. Saying good-bye hurts.

Oh my! Amber, I am so sorry. I was just reading and thinking of Jennifer, Ryan and Darren also. My heart breaks for all of you. So glad you took some beautiful last pics. Love to you all on this tough day.

So sad...but that picture is so cute of Sage on the horse!! And although we never want our kids to hurt, perhaps this will be her first taste of how the Lord so lovingly heals our hurts. In time.

Oh this is so sad....The pic of Sage hugging her horsey made me tear up.

I can't picture a Heaven without Horses.

Oh my! I am sooooooooo sad! Thumper was the first horse Amber Shea rode on, the only horse. She rode on him twice and loved it. I am so sorry! I showed Amber the picture and told her that Thumper died and I started crying. She was sad. She and I decided we would send sympathy cards out. Again, I am so sorry!
